On 7 November, Monday, the twelfth Wine and Dessert Combination Championship organized by the Lithuanian Sommelier School took place at the “Vaidilas Teatre” in the capital. The “Mantinga” team also tried their hand at the contest for the first time.
“Mantinga” presented the dessert “Vasaros takais” (“On the summer trails”) to the commission. The name of the dessert was chosen for a reason – all the ingredients of the dessert are Lithuanian, natural, reminiscent of summer.
The main note in the dessert was played by the cucumber, which took on an unusual shape – jelly;
the spinach biscuit seemed to invite you to travel through green summer meadows,
the forest honey-based cream covering the dessert invited to hear the sound of bees humming in the meadows,
and in order not to be too sweet, as if jumping into a cool lake revived the sour taste of the quinces in the dessert.
The dessert was created by “Mantinga” bread technologist Viktorija Vyšniauskaitė together with the help of other new product technologists.
