APPLES IN SHELLS

MUST HAVE:

  • Puff Pastry Dough Folded
  • 8 medium apples;
  • 1 egg;
  • 1 handful of nuts;
  • 1 handful of dried fruit
  • 1–2 spoons of brown sugar;
  • cinnamon;
  • icing sugar

THE DISH WILL SUCCESS IF YOU COOK IT AS FOLLOWS:

  1. Peel and deseed apples and sprinkle them with brown sugar and cinnamon. Dice the nuts and dried fruit, and then mix them up;
  2. Roll the dough out, divide it into 8 squares, put an apple on each, and fill the apples with the mix of dried fruit and nuts;
  3. Take the two opposite corners of a square, join them and press well, do the same with two other corners, and then coat the surface with whipped egg;
  4. Put the apples into a baking tin lined with baking paper and bake for around 20 minutes in an oven, preheated to 200 °C;
  5. Serve sprinkled with icing sugar.
